the ordinary is a brand that I’ve always wanted to try, I think they’re so unique and I love the science behind all their products! Salicylic acid is known for its amazing anti blemish & shine properties, so I decided to pick up the ordinarys 2% solution to give a try! one thing I love about the packaging is how simple yet consistent it is across the range! All the ordinarys products look so professional & a larger collection would make a great Shelfie! This particular serum comes with a dropped dispenser, which makes it really easy to get the product out! All the ordinarys products are based on science & the theory behind skincare - which for me instils a lot of trust that they will work! “Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin. This 2% treatment solution helps exfoliate the inside walls of pores to fight the appearance of blemishes and for better visible skin clarity with continued use. “ i was unsure what sort of texture to expect with this product as it’s not something I have really used an alternative of before! It turns out to be a thick liquid, that skins into the skin just like a serum and leaves no residue. I was conscious that this acid testament may effect my skin in a negative way, but I was so happy that it didn’t irritate my skin, and I couldn’t feel it when applied (in terms of stinging). I only use this product very occasionally, as it does increase chance of uv damage & of course - is an acid, but when I have a serious breakout it always helps to reduce the size and swelling of blemishes.
I probably wouldn’t repurchase this as I have found a natural alternative, in the form of Caudalie’s vinopure range, however this is 90% cheaper so I suppose it’s all down to what you want to spend your money on! I’m glad I’ve tried the ordinary skincare & would love to hear any product recommendations! Zoë x
