25/4/2017 0 Comments My styLe - room decor"An interior is the natural protection of the soul." ~ coco Chanel ive always been a lover of interior design - the idea that you can take an empty room - and style it in so many different ways, is something I really enjoy. In the past year or so I feel I've finally got my room to a place where I can be happy with it - and I thought I'd share some of my favourite key areas / pieces ♡ i think this is probably my favourite area of my room - the Eiffel Tower has so many memories of my first trip to Paris - and how this was bought directly under the tower itself! I love how it lights up just like the real thing and is such a unique piece. I also have a love for fashion illustrations. My favourite artist is Megan Hess and as you can see I have many of her books. They're so aesthetically pleasing meaning not only are they are an enjoyable read but look amazing on display too! In order to provide some sort of structure for these books to stand up with I thought a vase would work well. I love having flowers in my room - especially during the spring and summer. I adore gypsophila as it's so delicate - but peonies are my ultimate favourite - just a shame they're only out for such a short period! Right above this I have 2 picture ledges from Ikea. These are the newest addition to my room. I was inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest where they had taken many items and arranged them on shelves - and I felt it looked really chic and unique! I have put some more fashion books, perfume bottles , plants , candles , cards , bags and a lightbox on my shelves. But I also love how I can swap and change what I put on them - meaning I can change up my room for little cost. Above these shelves is a framed photo of Audrey Hepburn. I think this picture is so classic and elegant - I absolutely love it. ♡ i think it's really nice to make things for your room too - Pinterest is a great source of inspiration for diy room decor pieces. I made this wire notice board / mood board for around £15. I got a piece of wire panelling from a diy store and some rose gold spray paint. Once the panel was sprayed and dry I nailed it to my wall and threaded some copper wire lights through the squares. Finally I chose to add magazine pages , Polaroids , perfume cards etc to my board. I love how easy and inexpensive this was to make - and how I can change it up as much as I like. I think this would be a lovely addition to any room and can be made in so many different ways to suit any colour scheme. ☆ these are just a few of my favourite parts of my room but I feel they are the areas that bring me the most happiness and reflect my style the best ♡ if you have any questions about any of the items photographed please message me in the comments ☆ Zoë x
