15/5/2018 1 Comment How to be a bit more ‘audrey’audrey Hepburn. Such an icon that her name has practically become an adjectuve.. Being a bit more Audrey is something I know I certainly aspire to be! She is a total style icon with the most ethereal persona & the definition of elegance., in a world full of Kardashian’s - I want to be an Audrey. Be indiVidual.theres no denying Audrey was unique. Even from a young age she knew what worked for her and what didn’t. He personal style was derived from her unwillingness to compromise on her values - sticking to what was real. I think there’s nothing worse than being like everyone else and I’m sure Audrey felt that same. She vowed a great deal of stubbornness towards outside influences, always sticking to what felt natural. It’s all about not taking yourself too seriously, yet seriously enough! be modest.lets face it - Audrey had a lot to brag about - yet she remained so poised and modest throughout her career. It sounds odd saying ‘stand out from the crowd, yet be modest’ but Audrey carried it off so well. I think with she never forgot her roots. Stay humble & stay composed but know your worth.. ♡ “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” Never loose your sense of wonder about Your life & the wOrld.having survived ww2 Audrey didn’t take her life for granted. I think this really shone through in all her acting roles - she took on each character with such energy and wonder. Her later work with unicef showed how much she valued not just her life, but others peoples lives too. She was such a caring soul that has left her legacy in multiple ways. ☆ dIsregard trends.audrey was unique in her fashion - she did not follow trends. Instead she decided what worked for her and worked within those boundaries. That being said her sense of style was never boring - the classic polo neck, ballet flats & statement earrings were always her staple, yet she knew how to move with the decades! “The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” ACCENTUATE tHe eyes or the liPS, Never both.audrey lived by this rule. You can play up the eyes, or the lips - never both. You have to make a choice. Keep it natural and accentuate your features. ☆ grooming is key - when you look at Audrey you can see its very significant. Equally don’t worry about your appearance too much - Audrey notoriously felt she was not beautiful & she meant it. Of course the world disagreed, but it shows looks should not define how you feel about yourself. Even the most gorgeous women have insecurities! never underestimate tge power of blackTURTLENECKS, oversized shades and little black dresses.channel your inner holly golighty and never underestimate the power of these 3 key items. Wear them on the daily, accessories minimally. Keep it classy / revealing less - tone it down a little. Audrey was the queen of minimal elegance, and knew she didn’t have to show a lot of skin to win a mans heart. ☆ speaking of Givenchy Audrey is quoted as saying, “He kept the spare style that I love. What is more beautiful than a simple sheath made an extraordinary way in a special fabric, and just two earrings?” “You can always tell what kind of a person a man really thinks you are by the earrings he gives you.” (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, 1961)” ignore age.audrey said that she sometimes felt she were 12 years old:other times 38. It didn’t matter- she felt few people felt their age anyway. ‘I wouldn’t be able to tell you who I am because it has never bothered me. I never asked who I am. I don’t care.’ stay postive.Focus on the positive things in life and let go of the sad. Audrey said, “If my world were to cave in tomorrow, I would look back on all the pleasures, excitements, and worthwhilenesses I have been lucky enough to have had. Not the sadness, not my miscarriages, or my father leaving home, but the joy of everything else. It will have been enough.” We can all learn from that. “Why change? Everyone has his own style. When you have found it, you should stick to it.” embrace sOlitude.“I have to be alone very often. I’d be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That’s how I refuel.” It’s not often you hear Hollywood figures express stepping away from the limelight. But as Holly golightly says “a certain shade of limelight can wreck a girls complexion.’ Stepping away from things and taking time for yourself helps you approach things in a more balanced way. ♡ aim high.I tried always to do better: saw always a little further. I tried to stretch myself.” Ultimately, the path to success requires each of us to work harder and push further each and every day. If Audrey Hepburn’s life is any indication, there really is no limit to what you can achieve. i loved creating this post - Audrey is such an icon and I really feel she has provided us all with such inspirational messages. I’d love to know what you think about Audrey! ♡↷ Zoë x “I never think of myself as an icon. What is in other people's minds is not in my mind. I just do my thing.”
